What Is an RFID Pallet Tag?

An RFID Pallet Tag is a rugged, hard-cased UHF tag designed to mount on wooden, plastic or metal pallets. It gives each pallet a permanent digital identity that can be read at dock doors, conveyor checkpoints and racking locations without line-of-sight scanning.

Mounting options include corner slots that clip to standard pallet timber, cable tie loops, and pre-drilled rivet holes — so the tag survives fork-truck impacts, wash-downs and repeated journeys through automated conveyor systems.

Available with standard EPC Gen 2 encoding or custom data structures to integrate with WMS, ERP and track-and-trace platforms.

Where RFID Pallet Tags Are Used

Built for the warehouse floor and beyond — tracking pallets from inbound dock to final delivery across ambient and temperature-controlled environments.

Warehouse & Distribution Centres

Gate readers at dock doors capture pallet IDs the moment a truck arrives or departs — no manual scanning, no missed items. Fixed readers at racking aisles update locations in real time, giving the WMS an accurate picture of where every pallet sits at any moment. Fork-truck-mounted readers extend coverage to bulk storage and cross-docking areas.

Cold Chain & Temperature-Controlled Logistics

Hard-cased pallet tags survive repeated freezer entry and exit cycles, from +25°C ambient to -25°C cold store without performance degradation. Combined with temperature-logging readers at zone transitions, every pallet builds a continuous audit trail — critical for pharmaceutical, fresh produce and frozen food supply chains operating under strict traceability regulations.
