RFID Jewellery tag

Jewellery inventory is one of the hardest to manage in retail: items are small, numerous and high in value. Traditional barcode tags and manual counts mean staff spend hours checking every ring, pendant or pair of glasses by hand – and still risk miscounts, missing items and poor visibility between the shop floor and the safe.

About RFID Jewellery Tags

RFID jewellery tags are specialised UHF RFID labels designed for small, high-value items such as rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches and eyewear. Unlike standard retail tags, they are engineered to be compact, lightweight and jewellery-friendly, so they can be attached securely without affecting how the product looks or feels. Each tag contains a tiny RFID chip and antenna, embedded in a flexible label or loop construction. When the tag is read by a compatible UHF RFID reader, it transmits a unique ID that links directly to the item’s record in your stock, POS or ERP system – including product details, pricing and serial numbers.

Industry pain points we solve

Jewellery inventory is one of the hardest to manage in retail: items are small, numerous and high in value. Traditional barcode tags and manual counts mean staff spend hours checking every ring, pendant or pair of glasses by hand – and still risk miscounts, missing items and poor visibility between the shop floor and the safe.

Items are tiny, but the value is huge

Rings, earrings, watch heads and spectacle frames are easy to misplace or mix up – yet a single missing piece can mean a big financial loss.

Too many SKUs to count by hand

Trays and cabinets hold dozens of nearly identical items. Manual stock-takes at opening, closing or audit time are slow, tiring and prone to mistakes.

High risk of loss, swap or misallocation

Items constantly move between the vault, shop floor, polishing, photo studio, exhibitions and other branches. Paper records and spreadsheets simply cannot keep up.

Limited visibility across location

Store managers and head office often lack a real-time view of what’s in each store, safe or consignment tray – making replenishment, transfers and insurance checks more difficult.

Fine jewellery (rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings)

Loop-through or adhesive RFID labels attach securely to rings, chains and clasps. Staff can scan entire trays at once for opening, closing and cycle counts. Each piece has its own digital ID for tracking, pricing and authentication.

Eyewear & spectacles (on the temple/leg of the frame)

Special narrow labels can be wrapped around the spectacle temple so they stay secure but do not irritate customers trying on frames. Ideal for opticians and eyewear retailers who handle hundreds of similar-looking frames. Quick stock-takes and “find my frame” functionality via handheld readers

Exhibitions, roadshows and auctions

All items are tagged before they leave the store or vault. On arrival at an event, staff scan trays and cases to confirm what has arrived. At the end, a final scan ensures everything is accounted for before shipment or return.

Cables, in-store wiring and LED-assisted item location

Using butterfly-style RFID labels that can be wrapped around power and data cables in showcases and display units. The special “loop” construction makes it easy to secure the tag on cables without slipping or interfering with the installation. When combined with LED indicators in the cabinet or fixture, the system can light up the exact section or position as soon as a tagged item or tray is requested.
