What Is an RFID Cable Tie Tag?

An RFID Cable Tie Tag combines a conventional self-locking cable tie with an embedded RFID inlay, letting you identify and track cabled assets, pipe bundles and wire harnesses without adhesive or secondary fixings.

The locking mechanism threads around any conduit, racking upright or cable bundle. Once fastened, the tag becomes a tamper-evident identifier readable up to several metres away with a handheld or fixed RFID reader.

Available in HF (13.56 MHz) and UHF (860–960 MHz) with UV-stabilised nylon construction for permanent outdoor installation.

Where RFID Cable Tie Tags Are Used

From server rooms to street infrastructure — a single tag format that works wherever cables and conduits need permanent, readable identification.

Data Centres & Cable Management

Tag every cable run, patch panel port and server rack with a permanent RFID identifier. Technicians scan a bundle and instantly retrieve circuit details, installation dates and test records — eliminating hand-tracing and paper drawings. Cable tie tags loop directly around conduits and harnesses with no adhesive required, surviving the heat and airflow conditions common in server rooms.

Outdoor Utility & Street Infrastructure

UV-stabilised nylon construction makes cable tie tags ideal for street furniture, utility poles, telecoms cabinets and water treatment infrastructure. Maintenance crews loop the tie around any post or pipe and the tag locks permanently in place — readable by a handheld reader even after years of exposure to rain, UV and temperature extremes.

More Applications

One versatile tag format, many sectors.

Data Centres

Server-rack cable bundles for instant port-to-device mapping.

Utilities

Identify gas, water and power infrastructure at point of service.

Telecoms

Track fibre-optic and copper runs through ducts and cable risers.

Manufacturing

Label hydraulic hoses and wiring harnesses on production machinery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard cable tie tags are single-use (the locking ratchet is tamper-evident). Reusable releasable versions are available on request.
UHF variants achieve up to 6 m in open-air conditions; real-world range in cluttered cable trays is typically 1–3 m with a standard reader.
Yes. Select on-metal or metal-tolerant UHF inlay options for consistent read performance when the tag is in contact with metallic surfaces.
Yes — sequential numbering, QR codes, barcodes and company logos can all be printed or laser-engraved on the tag body.
